Nearly two months has passed since my last post and it may seem like a short lapse of time to many but when you work as hard as I do on my game, put in countless +10hrs session on a daily bases and spend half or more of your free time discussing poker with other decent players and studying your game, it does seem like a really long time and guess what? Hard work pays off, no matter you're an athlete preparing for the Olympics, an underground musician trying to make it happen or a poker player like me, trying to make a living out of your passion, hard work always pays off!!
I'll start by talking about final tabling the Big 2.2$, navigating your way through a field of 5000 players takes a lot of energy, skills, patience and a tiny drop of luck and nothing compares to the disgusting emotional wreck you feel when you know you're the best player at the table but get knocked out first 1010s don't hold vs AKo all in pre...that didn't discourage me though, in fact, nothing really does..
I went on a couple of days later to take down a 2.75$ MTT and 4.5$ 180man win making a 1K day which is pretty good for a Micro/Low stakes player :)
Kept putting in the efforts and the long grinding sessions, thanks to the support of my family and friends and managed to reach the final table of the $2.20 5K Turbo (3400 entrants) as the short stack, work my way up to the chip lead and take complete control of the table and down to HU, I had 4 to 1 chip lead advantage and that's when the poker gods decided to smack me in the face, ran in an awful fashion and got coolered a couple of times to finally get it in with A10 and Boom, the guy had AK, still, a decent score.
Also started playing the Hyper-Turbo Mtts on stars, I like them because usually people are so bad in these games and I'm very confident in my push-fold game, had a couple of deep finishes then an 18th place guy jams the btn, I was fairly sure he was light, I call from sb with K7s he shows Q9o, flop QKA, turn 99999999 hehehe FML!! The next day I managed to reach the final table as one of the shortest stacks though and although nothing but 1st place makes me happy, I'll take the 4th place for now :)
Also I started putting in more volume of the 180mans with the help of my coach Zach (good2850) done alright in the first 500games or so, looking forward the next level!!
Last but not least, recently got back to playing on Full Tilt as Djonetime, hopefully take something down soon, although I did get out in a sick manner from the 5.5$ KO 5K Gtd just as the bubble burst:
